Wednesday, Sept. 18th – Special thanks to United Health Care and the Arizona Diamondbacks for sponsoring over 500 military children and families to the Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks game on Wednesday, September 18th. It was an extra special evening for HHFF when United Health Care and the Diamondbacks organization honored one of our families that we support on the field prior to the game. Mira & Johannah Bordelon were able to share with the crowd the story of their husband and father who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Army First Sergeant Michael Bordelon was fatally wounded during a combat patrol in Mosul Iraq when a vehicle borne improvised explosive device went off. First Sergeant Bordelon’s awards include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Iraq Campaign Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge along with other achievement and service awards. First Sergeant Michael Bordelon also has a son, Jacob, who is attending Northern Arizona University and was not able to attend this very special evening recognizing his father, a real American Hero.
